Foto Michel Bitbol
Michel Bitbol was born on March 12, 1954. He is an emeritus research director at CNRS in Paris, France, currently working at the Archives Husserl, a phenomenology research center.
He worked as a biophysics researcher from 1978 to 1990. Later, he explored the relationships between the philosophy of physics and the philosophy of mind, closely collaborating with Francisco Varela. He then learned Sanskrit and published a book ("De l’intérieur du monde," 2010) in which he draws parallels between Buddhist interdependence and the unfounded relationships of quantum physics and epistemology. He has also developed a conception of consciousness inspired by a first-person knowledge epistemology, along with a phenomenological critique of naturalistic theories of consciousness.
